개미와 비둘기이야기 / 이솝우화

 

An Ant, walking by the river one day, said to himself,

"How nice and cool this water looks! l must drink some of it.

" But as he began to drink, his foot some of it.

"But as he began to drink, his foot slipped, and he fell in.

 

"Oh, somebody please help me, or l shall be drowned!" cried he.

A Dove sitting in a tree that overhung the river heard him,

and threw him a leaf.

"Climb upon the leaf, "said she,"and you will float ashore.

"the Ant climbed upon the leaf, and the wind blew it to the shore,

an stepped upon dry land again.

 

"Good-bye, kind Dove,＂ said he, as he ran home.

"You have saved my life, and l wish l could do something for you."

"Good-bye," said the Dove, "Be careful not to fall in again."

 

개미 한마리가 어느 하루 강 옆을 걸어가다가 그 자신에게 말했다

"이 물이 얼마나 좋고 시원하게 보이는가! 나는 조금 마셔야겠다"

그러나 그가 마시기 시작하면서 그의 발이 미끄러졌고 그는 안으로 빠졌다.

 

오 누군가 날 좀 도와줘요! 아니면 저는 빠져죽을 거에요! 그가 울부짖었다.

강위에 드리워진 나무에 앉아있던 비둘기 한마리가 그를 듣고는

그에게 잎을 던졌다.

"잎위로 기어올라가 그러면 넌 물가로 떠오를 거야"라고 말했다.

개미는 잎위로 기어올라갔다. 그리고 바람은 잎을 해안으로 불었고,

개미는 다시 육지위로 올라왔다.

 

개미는 "안녕 친절한 비둘기" 라고 말했다. 집으로 달려가면서

"너는 내 생명을 구했어 그리고 내가 너를 위해 무언가를 할수있기를 바래"

비둘기는 "안녕~ 다시 빠지지않도록 조심해~"

 

A few days after this, when the Dove was busy building her nest,

the Ant saw a man just raising his gun to shoot her.

He ran Quickly, and bit the man's foot so hard,

that he cried, "OH! oh!" and dropped his gun.

This startled the Dove, and she flew away.

the man picked up his gun, and walked on.

 

When he was gone, the Dove came back to her nest.

"Thank you, my little friend," she said. "You have saved my life.

" And the little Ant jumped for joy, to think he had been able to help the kind Dove.

 

이후로 몇일 후에 비둘기가 그녀의 둥지를 짓느라고 바쁠때

개미는 그녀에게 총을 쏘려고 총을 드는 남자를 봤다.

그는 빨리 달려서 그 남자의 발을 매우 세게 물었다.

그는 오! 오! 하고 소리치면서 그의 총을 떨어뜨렸다.

이는 비둘기를 놀라게 했고 그녀는 멀리 나라갔다.

그 남자는 총을 집어들고 걸어갔다.

 

그가 사라졌을 때 비둘기는 그녀의 둥지에 돌아왔다.

"고마워, 나의 귀여운 친구" "너는 내 생명을 구했어" 라고 말했다.

그리고 작은 개미는 친절한 비둘기를 도울수있었다는 것을 생각에 기뻐날뛰었다.
